CSIRAC 40th Anniversary

THE CSIRAC CELEBRATION - 40th ANNIVERSARY of CSIRAC 13 & 14 JUNE 1996

Built in the late 1940's, CSIRAC was Australia's first stored-program
automatic computer and one of the first in the world. It is the most
complete example remaining of the first half-dozen automatic computers ever
built. In late 1955 it was moved to the University of Melbourne and on 14
June 1956 at the University Computation Laboratory, was officially opened.
To mark this anniversary a CSIRAC celebration will take place on 13 & 14 June.
