Introduction/Editorial

1995/1996 has taken off at furious pace. Not only have we produced a newsletter with a particularly interesting article by Lori Hefner from the Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory in California, but we have also established a STAMA Email List which is the first of its kind to service the science, technology and health care archives fields.

Also, in this newsletter is a report on the International Council on Archives, Provisional Section on University and Research Institute Archives, Science Archives Group meeting in Washington in late August.

As a result, our connection with the international community is much closer than it has ever been, and with it comes the possibility to participate actively in global affairs. How many STAMA members are members of the ICA? This information would be useful to the convener, so if you or your institution are members can you contact Gavan McCarthy.
