Born: 19 July 1886  Hawthorn, Victoria, Australia.  Died: 4 May 1953  Victoria, Australia.
Gustav Adolph Ampt was a demonstrator, lecturer and senior lecturer in the Department of Chemistry, University of Melbourne 1919-51. Earlier he was a chemist with the Commonwealth Department of Defence 1908-18.
