Edman, Pehr Victor (1916 - 1977)

Born: 14 April 1916  Stockholm, Sweden.  Died: 19 March 1977  Munich, Germany.
Pehr Victor Edman worked in the area of protein biochemistry. He was educated at the Karolinska Institute where he remained for a year after graduating and then spent a long period of war service in the medical corps of the Swedish Army. Edman came to Australia in 1957 to work as Director of St Vincent's School of Medical Research, Melbourne and returned to Europe in 1972 as Director of Protein Chemistry I at the Max Planck Institute for Biochemistry.
