Born: 19 September 1898  Balclutha, Otago, New Zealand.  Died: 21 March 1980  Turner, Australian Capital Territory, Australia.
Ian Murray Mackerras was Director of the Queensland Institute of Medical Research, Brisbane 1947-61, and Research Fellow, CSIRO, Canberra 1961-74.

Career Highlights
Born Balclutha, New Zealand, 19 September 1898. Died 21 March 1980. President, Australian Entomological Society, 1965-1967. Fellow, Australian Academy of Science 1954.
