Born: 27 June 1906  Cambuslang, Lanark, Scotland.  Died: 5 March 1970  Camden, New South Wales, Scotland.
David Forbes Martyn was Officer-in-Charge, CSIRO Upper Atmosphere section 1958-70, David Forbes Martyn was earlier CSIR/O Chief Scientific Officer, Radio Research Board 1944-58 and Chief of Radio Physics 1940-41. He was President of the Australian Academy of Science 1969-70.
