Rümker, Christian Carl Ludwig (1788 - 1862)

Astronomer
Born: 18 May 1788  Stargard, Germany.  Died: 21 December 1862  Lisbon, Portugal.
Christian Carl L. Rümker was Astronomer at the Parramatta Observatory, and the first Government Astronomer, New South Wales 1821-23, and 1826-30. He then took up a position as Director of the Hamburg Observatory, Germany 1833-57.
