Born: 1 November 1875  Berais Town, Hampshire, England.  Died: 20 January 1953  Glen Iris, Victoria, Australia.
Ernest Willington Skeats was Professor of Geology and Mineralogy, University of Melbourne 1904-41, and published widely in the field but with emphasis on petrology and stratigraphy. President of the Royal Society of Victoria 1910-11.
