Lancelot Sidney Prior was Assistant Director (Geophysics) at Watheroo Magnetic Observatory in Western Australia from 1963 to 1974. Overall he worked at the observatory for around fifteen years. His longest post was with the Geology and Geophysics Section of the Commonwealth Bureau of Mineral Resources, where he worked as a Geologist from 1948 to 1974.
