Allen, David (1946 - 1994)

 
Astronomer
Born: 30 July 1946  England.  Died: 26 July 1994.
David Allen undertook infrared astronomy at the Anglo Australian Telescope. He was largely responsible for the design and development of an infrared instrument, "IRIS". He was the first and only permanent member of the observatory's scientific staff from 1983.
