Alexander Boden published school chemistry textbooks. He owned Hardman Australia, a manufacturing company, and Bioclone Australia, which makes and exports diagnostic products.

Career Highlights
Born Sydney, 28 May 1913. Died Sydney, 19 December 1993. Educated University of Sydney (BSc 1933, Hon DSc 1984). AO. Wrote "A Handbook of Chemistry", initially published by the Shakespeare Head Press and later by his own Science Press. Soon after graduating, he joined a research laboratory, which he soon took over, renamed Hardman Australia and turned into a manufacturing company, producing in particular DDT. When this became ecologically contentious, he closed down. In 1981 he formed Bioclone Australia, which exports diagnostic products. Fellow, Australian Academy of Science 1982, Leighton Medal, Royal Australian Chemical Institute 1986.
