Born: 26 February 1901  Rozelle, New South Wales, Australia.  Died: 16 December 1965  West Ryde, New South Wales, Australia.
Charles Clifford Challis worked for the Australian Gas Light Company 1920-62, beginning as a junior chemist and ending as Controller of Testing and Research.

Born Rozelle, New South Wales, 26 February 1901. Died West Ryde, New South Wales, 16 December 1965. Educated Sydney Technical College (A.S.T.C. Industrial Chemistry 1922, Metallurgy 1923, Chemical Engineering 1924). Australian Gas Light Company 1920-62 (junior chemist, chemical engineer, research officer, Controller of Testing and Research). President, New South Wales Branch, Royal Australian Chemical Institute 1940.
