Batman, John (1801 - 1839)

Born: 21 January 1801 New South Wales, Australia. Died: 6 May 1839 Victoria, Australia.

John Batman was the first person to realise the potential of land near the Yarra River as a spot for a town and is thus considered one of the founders of Melbourne.
