Lieutenant Colonel, Royal Australian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, Australian Imperial Force 1940-46; Senior Research Officer, CSIRO 1947-52; Scientific Adviser to the Australian Military Board 1952-56; Foundation Professor of Traffic Engineering, University of New South Wales 1956-81, Emeritus Professor from 1981. Institution of Engineers (Australia) Inaugural Medal in Transport Engineering.
