Burstall, Aubrey Frederic (1902 - )

Born: 15 January 1902
Aubrey Frederic Bursrtall was Professor of Engineering at the University of Melbourne from 1937 to 1946. He developed mechanical respirators for the infantile paralysis epidemic of 1937-1938 and gas producers for motor vehicles. He was conferred a Doctor of Science (DSc) by the University at some stage. Before and after his post in Australia, Burstall worked in the UK where he was educated at the universities of Birmingham (MSc) and Cambridge (PhD).
