Thomas Field was a free settler who established a pottery business in Sydney around 1842, making containers for ginger beer and cordials.

Born Barnet, Middlesex, England, ca 1814. Died Sydney, 27 April 1880. Learned pottery from J.A. Gransby 1838-41; arrived Sydney ca 1842; started business April 1843 as T. Field & Co.; probably retired ca 1872.
