Veterinary scientist

J. F. Filmer was Veterinary Officer of the Western Australian Department of Agriculture in 1928. He worked with E.J. Underwood on 'Denmark wasting disease' in cattle and showed in 1935 that cobalt is an essential nutrient in their diet. Later he became Director of the Animal Research Division, New Zealand Department of Agriculture
