Born: 15 May 1915  Wollongong, New South Wales, Australia.  Died: 1 April 1949  Wollongong, New South Wales.
Evelyn Ernest (Evo) Owen invented the Owen sub-machine gun, used by Australian troops in New Guinea during World War II and later used in the Korean War, the Malayan emergency and the Vietnam War.
