Born: 21 June 1936
Colin Alfred J. Paulson and E.C. Potter led a CSIRO (Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation) team that developed a technique for reliably estimating the design parameters for a projected precipitator, using observations obtained from a scaled-down coal combustion furnace. This led to more fly ash being collected and cleaner smoke emissions. Paulson was a Research Manager of Coal Utilisation at the CSIRO Division of Coal and Energy Technology. He was awarded the George Julius Medal by the Institution of Engineers Australia; was a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Energy; a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers Australia; and a Director of Austenergy.
