Peter Purcell Tapper was Executive General Manager of Woodside Offshore Petroleum Pty Ltd in Western Australia from 1982. He had worked for the Royal Dutch/Shell group since 1956 after completing a Bachelor of Engineering with Honours (BEng Hons) at the University of Auckland, New Zealand.
