Born: 12 March 1892  Windsor, Victoria, Australia.  Died: 28 June 1973  Glen Iris, Victoria, Australia.
Sidney Herbert Witt joined the Postmaster-General's Department in 1910 as a junior instrument fitter. He became the first head of the Research Laboratories 1923-45.
