Ross, John (1817 - 1903)

Born: 17 May 1817  Bridgend, Perthshire, Scotland.  Died: 5 February 1903  Australia.
John Ross migrated to Australia in 1836 and drove stock over much of South Australia. He led the expedition which selected the route for the overland telegraph 1870-71 and also the Thomas Elder expedition to north-west South Australia 1874.
