Born: 1 February 1891  Sydney, New South Wales, Australia
John Lewis Froggatt was the chief entomologist for the Mandated territory of New Guinea from 1929. Prior to this he was in charge of the sheep blow-fly research station in New South Wales and worked for the Queensland Government in their agriculture department.
