Born: 11 December 1908 Auckland, New Zealand. Died: 13 July 1986 Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.

Edmund Dwen Gill was Deputy Director of the National Museum of Victoria, 1969-1973, Assistant Director 1964-1969 and Curator of Fossils 1948-1964. President of the Royal Society of Victoria 1969-1970.
