Sturt, Charles (1795 - 1869)

Born: 28 April 1795  India.  Died: 16 June 1869  England.
Charles Sturt, a military officer, undertook an exploration of the Murrumbidgee and Murray Rivers in 1829. He later took up a position as Assistant Commissioner of Lands in South Australia and in 1844-46 explored Central Australia.
