| Alfred Walter Campbell had a specialist medical practice in Sydney in neurology and mental diseases. He published numerous papers, particularly on the brain, poliomyelitis and 'Australian disease', later known as Murray Valley encephalitis. |

Medical officer and director of pathology, Rainhill County Mental Hospital near Liverpool, England 1892-1905; private practice, Sydney, as a specialist in neurology and mental diseases 1905- ; honorary consultant, Royal Alexandra Hospital for Children and the Coast (Prince Henry) Hospital; 2nd Australian General Hospital, Cairo 1914-15; Military Hospital, Randwick 1916-18; consultant, Department of Repatriation after the war. |
