Born: 18 June 1834  Derby, England.  Died: 22 November 1903  Hobart, Tasmania, Australia.
Francis Abbott Jnr, was initially assitant to the Superintendent of the Botanical Gardens, Hobart and then Superintendent. He also had a keen interest in astronomy and meteorology.
