D'Albertis, Luigi Maria (1841 - 1901)

Born: 21 November 1841  Voltri, Sardinia, Italy.  Died: 2 September 1901  Italy.
Luigi Maria D'Albertis led various expeditions to New Guinea during the 1870s including a trip up the Fly river with Lawrence Hargrave in 1876. He was criticized by later travellers for his unscrupulous ethnological collecting.
