Born: 21 August 1905  Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.  Died: 22 February 1986.
Richard Thomas M. (Dick) Pescott was the seventh Director of the Royal Botanic Gardens, Melbourne 1957-70. Previously he had worked in the Science Section of the Victorian Department of Agriculture and was Director of the National Museum of Victoria 1944-57. Thomas was educated at Wesley College, Melbourne and at the University of Melbourne (MAgrSc).
