| Francis Houssemayne du Boulay was a keen beetle collector. He is best known for the beetles he sent to England from Western Australia, to specialists in the different groups. He also collected in Queensland and New South Wales before settling in Beechworth, Victoria, where among other rarities he discovered Stigmodera barbiventris Carter. |

| Born Sandgate, Kent, 24 January 1837. Died Beechworth, Victoria, 12 January 1914. Arrived Perth about 1858. Minnannooka station, near Geraldton, with his brother, being one of the first to collect insects there; Victoria ca 1869; collected in Cooktown and Rockhampton 1870, collecting also in northern New South Wales and Sydney; Beechworth, Victoria until his death. Good painter, who presented two volumes of hand paintings of Coleoptera, mostly rare and handsome insects, to the National Museum, Melbourne. |
