Born: 3 October 1843  Hobart, Tasmania, Australia.  Died: 9 August 1931  Oyster Cove, Tasmania, Australia.
Edward Lodewyk Crowther, the son of W.L. Crowther, established his medical practice in Hobart in 1875. He made several prospecting expeditions to north-eastern Tasmania with little success but had extensive glass houses at his home in Hobart.
