Born: 7 August 1896  Deception Bay, Queensland, Australia.  Died: 8 October 1971  Turner, Australian Capital Territory, Australia.
Mabel Josephine Mackerrasworked in the Division of Entomology, CSIR, Canberra, the LHQ Medical Research Unit, Cairns during World War II, and was Senior Parasitologist at the Queensland Institute of Medical Research until 1961.
