| Alwyn James Arnott was McCaughey Professor of Dentistry, University of Sydney, 1935-64. He was a driving force behind the building of a new dental hospital in 1939 and its extensions in the 1940s. |

Superintendent, United Dental Hospital, Sydney 1924-33; McCaughey Professor of Dentistry, University of Sydney 1935-64; war service as dentist 1939-45. Fairfax Reading prize for service and contribution to dental science 1956. |
