| William John Chamberlain was first City Chemist for the Brisbane City Council from when it absorbed the Brisbane Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board in 1928 until he resigned in 1948. He joined the Queensland Turf Club to set up a laboratory for the analysis of equine biological fluids for drugs in January 1949 and retired in 1966. He also did a considerable amount of consultancy work, eg helping to design and implement the use of aerobic settling tanks for the purification of effluents from the K.R. Darling Downs meat works. |
