Hufton, Harold Seward (? - 1947)

Died: 1 February 1947
Harold Seward Hufton spent his entire working life with Australian Iron & Steel Ltd, at Lithgow and Port Kembla. He spent the first 17 years in the laboratories followed by posts as assistant superintendent of the blast furnaces, inspector of iron ore deposits of New Zealand (1935), efficiency researcher of several departments, cement production research at Berrima, and terms of management of the spun pipe shop and the electric steel furnace plant. In 1945 he accompanied another officer of the company to Britain, USA and Canada to investigate coal cleaning practices.
