Kirchner, William John (1896 - 1973)

 
Chemist
Born: 2 June 1896  Albury, New South Wales, Australia.  Died: 13 December 1973  Blue Mountains, New South Wales.
William John Kirchner spent all of his working life with Burroughs Wellcome & Co. at Rosebery. He worked as a chemist from 1920 to 1936 and held an administrative post as Unit Secretary from 1936 to 1961, where he was concerned with patents and trade marks, pharmacy law, manpower regulations etc, and represented the company on the Pharmaceutical Ethical Committee and the Industry Conciliation Committee. Kirchner was educated at the University of Sydney (BSc (hons)), where he also worked as a part-time demonstrator with the Pharmacy Department from ca 1962 to 1965.
