John George Long worked for the Australian Gas Light Company 1921-50.

Career Highlights
Born Sydney, 5 May 1886. Died 5 July 1950. Educated Sydney Technical College (completed chemistry course 1904). Laboratory assistant, University of Sydney, assistant to A.H.S. Lucas (q.v.), Science Master at Sydney Grammar School, Assayer, Budgery Mine, Hermidale area of western New South Wales 1910-13, Manager 1913-19, eucalyptus oil and other industries 1919-21, Australian Gas Light Company 1921-50.
