Oakes, Leslie Francis (1914 - 1974)

 
Chemical engineer
Leslie Francis Oakes joined Standard Telephones and Cables Pty Limited, in the Valve Laboratory Division in 1943 as a Chemical Engineer. He remained there until it closed in 1962, and was then made supervisor of the Materials Laboratory. Before joining Standards he worked for Mount Isa Mines Ltd.
