Walte Boles has worked at the Australian Museum since 1975 and is currently Collection Manager, Ornithology.

Career Highlights
Educated Emporia State University, Kansas. Australian Museum since 1975, working as Scientific Officer, Ornithology Section and Collection Manager, Terrestrial Vertebrates and currently as Collection Manager, Ornithology. Research interests include the evolution, systematics and biogeography of Australian birds, particularly songbirds; moult, ageing and sexing characters of Australian birds; and Tertiary avifauna of Australia. Wrote The Robins & Flycatchers of Australia (1988) and The taxonomy and species of birds of Australia and its territories (1994, with Les Christidis).
