Born: 1 December 1940  Oxford, England
Colin Rogers moved to Australia in 1992 after a career in Canada, the USA and England. He was appointed Professor of Applied Mathematics at the University of New South Wales. His research is in the area of invariance and its application in continuum mechanics and soliton theory.

Lecturer, University of Nottingham 1968-71; Assistant Professor, University of Western Ontario 1971-73; Associate Professor, Old Dominion University, Virginia 1973-74; Associate Professor, University of Western Ontario 1974-78, Professor 1981-88; Chair in Mathematical Engineering, Loughborough University of Technology 1988-92; Chair in Applied Mathematics, University of New South Wales 1992 -. Fellow, Australian Academy of Science 1999.
