Lorraine Dennerstein was appointed Director of the Office for Gender and Health at the University of Melbourne in 1997. Her main areas of research are menopause and women's health, gender and mental health and the measurement of sexual functioning. She is a member of the editorial committees of 3 international journals and has written over 20 books and 200 journal articles or chapters in books.
