Kailis, Patricia Verne (1933 - )

Born: 19 August 1933  Castlemaine, Victoria, Australia
Patricia Verne Kailis, a medical graduate, worked in general practice in Western Australia during the 1960s before embarking on a career in clinical research as a genetic councillor and neurogeneticist. In 1960 she co-founded the MG Kailis Group of companies with her husband Michael Kailis. Following his death in 1999, Kailis became the Governing Director of the MG Kailis Group. The couple are recognised as pioneers of the modern Western Australian fishing industry.
