Blevin, William Roderick (1929 - )

Born: 31 October 1929  Inverell, New South Wales, Australia
William Roderick Blevin was a member of the Division of Applied Physics at CSIRO (Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation) for forty-two years. He joined in 1953 as a Research Scientists and retired in 1994 at the level of Chief Standards Scientist and Chief of Division. He was also appointed Honorary Fellow of the Division of Telecommunications and Industrial Physics, at CSIRO. Blevin's main research interests were in the fields of metrology and applied physics on which he wrote widely. He was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) in 1989 and was a member of many scientific societies and bodies including the Institute of Physics, UK (FIP) and the Australian Institute of Physics (FAIP).
