Darwent, Joseph (c. 1847 - 1926)

 
Orchardist and Politician
Born: c. 1847  Sheffield, United Kingdom.  Died: August 1926  Quambi, South Australia, Australia.
Joseph Darwent was part of the team which patented an ‘Invention and Improvements in the Art of Metallurgy’ in 1866. He spent most of his life in Penola, South Australia where he was a member of the District Council for thirty-five years (Chairman for twenty-five years) and an orchardist from around 1905.
