Hamlet, William Mogford (1850 - 1931)

Born: 1850  Portsmouth, United Kingdom.  Died: 18 November 1931  Glenbrook, New South Wales, Australia.
William Mogford Hamlet arrived in Australia (Sydney) in 1883 and was appointed government analyst for New South Wales. He was an active member of the Royal Society of New South Wales and published widely in their and other scientific journals. Hamlet was educated at the Bristol Trade and Mining School and the Royal College of Chemistry, both in the United Kingdom. Before coming to Australia he had worked for several years in the UK and in the West Indies.
