Born Melbourne 19 July 1886; died Melbourne 4 May 1953. Education Melbourne University (B.Sc. 1908). Research scholar Melbourne University 1908-10. Chemist, Commonwealth Department of Defence, 1908-18. Demonstrator in chemistry at Melbourne University 1919-25; lecturer 1925-35; senior lecturer 1935-51.
