SMITH, Alfred Mica (Micaiah)

Born Perth, Scotland, 21 September 1844; died Ballarat, Victoria, 14 May 1926. Education, Owens College, Manchester (1861-62), University of Heidelberg and London University (B.Sc. 1867). B.Sc., Victoria University, Manchester, 1882. Registrar and lecturer in chemistry, Bendigo School of Mines, Victoria, 1876-81. Lecturer in chemistry and superintendent of laboratories, Ballarat School of Mines, 1881-1922.
