RICHARDSON, Joseph Falding

Born Melbourne 16 December 1916; died Melbourne 9 February 1989. Education, University of Melbourne (B.Sc. 1940; M.Sc. 1942). Trainee physicist, Optical Munitions Panel, 1940-43. Physicist, Dental Materials Research Laboratory, Melbourne, 1944-45. Research physicist, Commonwealth X-ray and Radium Laboratory (later Australian Radiation Laboratory) 1945-77; assistant director 1957-73; Head, Standards & Compliance Section 1973-76; acting director 1977.
