Chemist, Zinc Corporation Ltd., Broken Hill, N.S.W., 1905-06; Manager, de Bavay's Treatment Co. Ltd., 1907-14. General manager, Electrolytic Zinc Co., 1917-26. Chairman, Commonwealth Development & Migration Commission, 1926-30. Government consultant 1930-36; Director of the North Australian Aerial, Geological & Geophysical Survey, 1934-36. General manager, Australian Paper Manufacturers Ltd. 1936-50. Knighted 1933.
