Born Ulverstone, Tasmania, 17 March 1908; died Canberra 13 October 1981. Education, University of Tasmania (B.Sc. 1938). Research scholar, University of Tasmania 1937-38. Physicist, C.S.I.R./O. Section, later Division, Food Preservation & Transport 1939-60. Electron microscopist, John Curtin School of Medical Research, Australian National University, 1960-71. Visiting fellow in physical biochemistry at the Australian National University 1971-81.
